SSiP Scheme Updates V8.19

Safety Schemes in Procurement (SSIP) released an update at the end of 2024 ready for audits in 2025, the changes include a number of minor word adjustments and a change in the SSiP complaints procedure, the main change to the checklist which is used by auditors when assessing members is to Additional Duties section 15, Principle Contractor duties.

The new requirements are detailed below.

15.  Principal Contractor duties (Principal Contractor only)– Arrangements in place for suitable site Inductions
– Arrangements in place to provide the Principal Designer with information for the H&S File.
– Arrangements in place to ensure that building fire safety information is handed over to the Responsible Person(s) no later than the date of completion of the work, or the date of occupation of the building, whichever is earliest.
– Arrangements in place to ensure a site-specific emergency plan is in place prior to the commencement of works.
– Arrangements in place to ensure that the Client is aware of their duties before commencing work.
